Bryant Park is hosting dozens of live and in-person music, dance, and theater events produced in partnership with a diverse lineup of New York City’s performing arts institutions. Some featured partners are Carnegie Hall Citywide, The Town Hall, Joe’s Pub, The Classical Theatre of Harlem, American Symphony Orchestra, New York City Opera and many more. All performances are free to the public and designed to be enjoyed casually – no tickets required—with ample seating available and free picnic blankets for audience members to borrow. Every year, stars such as Meryl Streep, Al Pacino and James Earl Jones perform modern interpretations of various Shakespeare plays in Central Park at the recently redone 1,800 seat open-air theater and they are attended by over 80,000 people.
