Hyatt Union Square New York

The Hyatt Union Square, only a few years new and is in my neighborhood – so you know it’s a great location! While you most certainly won’t want to bike in Union Square, the easiest path is to take Broadway 4 blocks south (in the bike lane), make a right on 9th Street, and follow it west all the way to the Hudson River. From there, the city is at your feet and you can bike South for views of the World Trade Center and Statue of Liberty, plus great places to eat along the way. Bike north and grab yourself a lunch at the Pier 1 Cafe or head into Central Park and explore 843 acres of lush greenery.

Arlo Midtown

The new Arlo Midtown located just between Times Square and Hudson Yards, has 489 rooms, a lovely 26th floor rooftop bar/restaurant, complimentary custom Priority Bicycles, free wifi and a fitness center. Guest rooms include bedside wireless charging stations, 55” LED TVs, backlit bathroom mirrors and digital “Do Not Disturb”. Arlo will have 5 Nearly Ninth dining spaces: a lobby bar, lounge, coffee shop, dining room with attached courtyard, and the 26th floor rooftop.

The Muse Hotel

The Maritime Hotel

The The Maritime Hotel does everything it can to convey a sailing-ocean theme, while still being in the heart of the hottest area in the city. Grab a bike, go west 3 blocks and you’ll be right on the Hudson River Greenway just near Chelsea Piers.

The Jane Hotel

The rooms at The Jane are designed like a ship’s cabin. The low rate catch is there is only a single bed — and the coed bathroom is down the hall. Some rooms offer bunk beds and the “captain’s cabin” with private bathroom starts at $225. The hip, but tiny rooms, come with free wi-fi, 23-inch LCD television, DVD player, iPod dock, built-in drawers and a luggage rack plus bicycles are complimentary and they are right on the Hudson River. Brunch at the Jane Hotel is a NYC favorite.
