FIFA awarded the Host Region of New York New Jersey (NYNJ) the rights to host the FIFA World Cup 26TM Final and seven other matches throughout the tournament at MetLife Stadium. In terms of scale, FIFA World Cup 26 will be the biggest sporting event ever held: three host countries, 16 host cities, 48 teams and 104 matches in the new tournament format across 39 days between June 11 and July 19, 2026. NY/NJ will host eight matches during the tournament (June 13, 16, 22, 25, 27, 30 & July 5 &19), including the finals on July 19.
