The best things to do in New York in June in New York City are mostly outdoors and allow you to enjoy the best of NYC in great weather. The weather is usually delightful and Central Park is constantly full with tennis, baseball, bicycles, roller blades, beach volleyball and people just lounging in Sheep Meadow.
Dining outside is a very NYC thing to do, especially at a sidewalk cafe, or grabbing cocktails at one of our many beautiful roof decks. Many New Yorkers escape on the weekends to local beaches, such as the Hamptons and the Jersey Shore.
Check out all the Best June Events in New York City. Soak up all the amazing outdoor and free things to do in June, such as Shakespeare in the Park, Philharmonic in the Park, Metropolitan Opera Summer Recital Series, Bryant Park Picnic Performances, Lincoln Center Summer for the City, River to River Festival, Museum Mile Festival, Free Outdoor Concerts and Movies and the Washington Square Outdoor Art Exhibit.
Celebrate culture and heritage during Pride Month and the Puerto Rican Day Parade. Sample NYC’s best eats during the Taste of Times Square and Central Park Taste of Summer. Cheer at the Belmont Stakes or for the Yankees, Mets or NYCFC and so much more.

June has some of the year’s most perfect NYC weather. Historical June high/low temperatures are 81/63 (F) and 27/17 (C). Central Park foliage is in gorgeous bloom, the trees lush and the water starting to warm. NYers are consistently playing outside: beach, tennis, volleyball, frisbee, biking, baseball and much more.
The temperature is fairly consistent day to night and most likely you not need any sort of jacket or coat. You can bring an evening sweater to be safe, but the dress code is likely shorts, tanks/tees, sundresses and open toe shoes.
